Twilight... just a few days away!

As an independent movie fan, I notice that there are only a few film studios that consistently delivers quality films on a lesser budget than any other studio. One of these studios that I really like is Summit Entertainment.

Summit Entertainment

If you sit down and look at a list of their recent films, you'll really be surprised by the stuff they've put out. For starters: Penelope, Nim's Island, P2, Resident Evil: Extinction, Once, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Memento. That's a really solid mix of critically acclaimed and/or box office juggernaut movies.

So when I found out that Summit would be handling Twilight, one of my favorite book series (Written by Stephanie Meyer), next to Harry Potter of course, I couldn't have been more elated.

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart as Edward Cullen and Bella Swan

Rather than whine like a baby over every casting decision, or the budget behind this movie, I embraced that one of the best and most well-rounded studios was producing it. Though, it really doesn't hurt to have a young talent like Kristen Stewart in the starring role, if you're going to try and translate a popular series to the big screen.

So, for any who may have been wondering what Twilight - a soon-to-be blockbuster film - is doing on UF... just remember what studio it's coming from. There's no doubt that it's in good hands. Summit simply cannot afford to make a mistake with what is arguably their biggest movie release in their company history (Est. 1996).
